Keep Rubbing That Thin Skin

Here's another drop of salt in the wound of Obama's thin skin.

The Early Years

I finally had a chance to read this article in the Weekly Standard by Byron York. It's a great piece about Obamas early years and it shows a few new details that few may be aware of.

The article is here

A Tale Of 2 Strong Diplomacy's

We have yet another example of the differences each candidate will bring to the Diplomatic field.  Russia's aggression is being viewed two different ways.

Teem Obama seems to want the kindergarten approach, as usual, Bill Richardson is calling for "a strong resolution getting the Russians to show some restraint".  As George Will notes...
Apparently Richardson was ambassador to the U.N. for 19 months without noticing that Russia has a Security Council veto.
McCain seems to be calling for an adult solution saying "to immediately and unconditionally ... withdraw all forces from sovereign Georgian territory".

What's so hard about talking like an adult? Many people believe that to be on the left means never having to grow up. Obama and Richardson sure sound like they're still in Elementary School, telling the bullies to that they strongly urge them to change their behavior. Then the bully puts them in the trash can and laughs all the way to his next victim.

A Layman's Take On The MSM

I received this email from an acquaintance of mine today. He's not a very political guy and he doesn't pay much attention to the media. But to most Americans, when it smells like a fish and looks a fish well....

I watched the news tonight and they were doing a story on how the South is handling the possibility of a black president. The name of the story was called "Southern Discomfort" and they interviewed different people of age, and race. Basically they got the son of the author who wrote "Deliverance" that was turned into the Burt Reynolds movie. He went back to northern Georgia to interview people and see if things had changed since his father wrote the book. Basically he interviewed 3 white people and 1 black person about the upcoming election and the South in general. He basically painted the South as a stereotypical disgruntled, bigot, racist, confederate loving. backwoods culture who hangs onto the past and hasn't entered the 21st century and who still lives in the 19th century chanting "The South will Rise Again". After watching the interview, you could see where they had cut and edited the story to spin how they want the South to be depicted.
Frankly, I am getting really sick of the news. Night after night, its the same stories and the same agenda. Next time see how the news goes. It may sound something like this: Top story - the economy - "Gas prices are up, people are losing their homes, recession has been here for the past year, people don't have money to spend because all of their money is going toward skyrocketing gas and food costs. It's their employers fault, it's big oil's fault, it's the president's fault. The Earth is melting, if we don't do something the globe will explode, the sky is falling, how will we cope? Now to Politics - Obama, Obama, Obama (McCain who?) Can't wait till November because then the economy will get better, the Earth will cool, the "senseless" war will end and all of our problems will be solved.
Truth:
1. Government can't help us. They can't even balance their own checkbook, what makes you think they can balance yours?
2. Don't buy the hype. The news is full of crap and only wants ratings. To get those ratings they think they have to scare the public in thinking that things are terrible and that maybe the next night things might be better when the public tunes in again.
3. Obama can't save you. Less government is better government - Am I beginning to sound like a Libertarian?
Anyway, thanks for letting me rant.
Kevin
This guy is a pretty good representation of the average tax paying, God fearing, xenophobic American that's catching on to Obama's empty rhetoric and the MSM's complicity in it.

Olympic Basketball Talk!

The U.S. Olympic Basketball Team had better be careful or they're going to let another slip away. Basketball and Hockey is pretty much the only reason I watch the Olympics anymore. I'm not sure the Basketball guys are going to enjoy my support after these games if they squander another opportunity to take home the gold.  They are the favorites after all.

Last nights exhibition game against Australia was a prime example of what can happen if they get complacent. Here's a little article about it.

These guys are in danger of becoming the perennial champions that never were and this year instead of thinking it's theirs, they need to go in with a little humility EARN the gold

Does Anyone Find This Picture Amusing?

Does Anyone Find This Picture Amusing?

If Barry wants "New Energy For America", why is calling for the use of old energy that we already have such as the strategic oil reserve?

If this is truly an emergency then whom do we have to thank for it? Not the Republicans.

If drilling's not the answer...

If drilling's not the answer, what is? Releasing the strategic reserve? Here's what Obama says, just another Partisan talking point...from the NYT...

“We should sell 70 million barrels of oil from our Strategic Petroleum Reserve for less expensive crude, which in the past has lowered gas prices within two weeks,” Mr. Obama said. “Over the next five years, we should also lease more of the National Petroleum Reserve in Alaska for oil and gas production, and we should also tap more of our substantial natural gas reserves and work with the Canadian government to finally build the Alaska natural gas pipeline, delivering clean natural gas.”

Didn't Nancy Pelosi call for that a few weeks ago? from CNN on July 9, 2008, not even a month ago she said we should release the oil...

"to help reduce record prices that are helping push the economy toward recession."

"Releasing oil from the Reserve is a tool to manage our national and economic security, and when judiciously used will in no way jeopardize national security,"

For people that think supply side solutions aren't the answer, they sure do sound like they want a supply side solution.

This is actually getting kind of fun to watch. The Dems are starting to see their Demagoguery back-fire on them.

Fun With The Race Card

In light of Obama playing the race card this week, I thought I would inject a little humor into the debate. What better way than to soak up Seinfeld's take on bigotry.

How funny is it that ten years later Michael Richards would be caught on tape in a racist tirade?

Still great though!

Air Up Your Tires!

Well the Obamassiah has spoken. Today he said that "you need to air up your tires, that will help the energy crisis".

Before today, I didn't know that it was necessary to check my tires in order for my car to run smoothly and efficiently. Thank you Obamassiah.

And the lecture continues.

Keep 'Em Coming Mac!

These are the type of adds that Team McCain should be putting out as often as possible...

It's impossible for Obama to call this a distraction or a misrepresentation. They are facts and he can run but he can't hide from the truth about his many looney lafty positions. Obama's Chickens...are coming home...to roost!

How Will Barry Spin This One?

So the guy that wants us to rise to "a new style of politics, leave special interests behind and close the chapter on the Bush/McCain way of governing" was using Blackwater as his security while in Iraq and Afghanistan.

How will he spin this one? I know, by saying that "they're getting a bad rap". Oh wait, that won't work either because that bad rap is coming from the left. Of course this won't get any coverage from the MSM, because if it's OK for the Obamesiah to do it then it's OK for them.

Remember in February when both the Clinton and Obama Campaigns were trying to out so each other on how bad they thought Blackwater was?
