Thoughts From An Average Voter Friend Of Mine

Thoughts From An Average Voter Friend Of Mine

Michael Steele - "Drill baby, drill!"  -Greatness
Mitt Romney
-  Loved his comparisons on the liberal vs conservative judges decisions.
Mike Huckabee - So true about how Democrats have given Americans the false impression that Republicans are all about the rich.  Give me a break.  We are about the American people having the freedom and the free will to make their dreams happen, including prosperity.  It is not the Governments responsibility.
Rudy Giulianni - Oh my, he did go after Obama.  The question is, however, were they true attacks or just stating the facts.  Obama can't make or keep his decisions, so, when he told Biden that he should make sure that his VP nomination was in writing, you have to admit that that was funny.
Sarah Palin -  She was awesome, not to mention hot!  Just kidding, okay, I'm serious.
"This is a man who can give an entire speech about the wars America is fighting and never use the word 'victory' except when he's talking about his own campaign."  ~whether we were for the war or not has no stance now.  Now, it is about winning and seeing that the Iraqi people are better off than where they were before Saddam was in power.
"In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers. And then there are those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change."  ~again, what has Obama accomplished in his career to make him capable of being our President.
"What exactly is our opponent's plan? What does he actually seek to accomplish after he's done turning back the waters and healing the planet? The answer is to make the government bigger and take more of your money."  ~little hit at Obama for those who believe he is the new savior, but really how can the redistribution of wealth, the raising of taxes, the reliance of the UN to solve global problems, the reduction of military growth and advancement, etc. save America?

I am glad that Palin was chosen to be our VP and her speech has not changed my view.

He's not alone.  Look at the emails Hugh Hewitt are posting from his listeners on his blog.

Who Is Sounding Like "More of the same" These Days.

I love it. Who's starting to sound like more of the same? Every time the Obama camp doesn't like something they hear or that they disagree with they com out with the same old recycled answer.

"The speech that Gov. Palin gave was well delivered, but it was written by George Bush’s speechwriter and sounds exactly like the same divisive, partisan attacks we’ve heard from George Bush for the last eight years. If Gov. Palin and John McCain want to define ‘change’ as voting with George Bush 90 percent of the time, that’s their choice, but we don’t think the American people are ready to take a 10 percent chance on change."- Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton

Is it me or so they actually have a big bag of nothing when it comes to the actual substance of the issues we face. I think they have an answer but are afraid to spell it out because their leftist views would turn more than a large majority of the population off. So, this same tired response is all they can think of these days. The lefties are running scared and don't know what to do about the resurgent McCain campaign.

Oh, and by the way Mr. Burton, Sarah wrote her own speech. Even this tired response isn't accurate.

Update/Correction - I've been told that Sarah's speech was initially prepared by the campaign but they had to change it with her input to make a little less "masculine".

The Guy Couldn't Even Respond

Newt was so good at putting this reporter in his place that he was left speechless.

With guys like Newt going at it, the McCain campaign can just steer clear of it and act as if it doesn't bother them.

Some Random Thoughts About My Last Post

I agree that Barry had to attack McCain, but in that attack he should have outlined a clear difference between them. The few policy positions that he did mention were all stolen out of the McCain playbook, i.e. energy independence, low taxes (when has a Dem ever lowered taxes aside from Kennedy and he's be a Republican by today's standard), nuclear power (mac's called for that for years and the Dims have always blocked it.). That last one, nuclear power, is just a pure platitude from Obama, because he'll never get that one done. All he'll ever do obstruct it by talking about safely disposing of the waste. If he truly wants us to be like France & Europe he should just look at how the dispose of their waste. BTW they get 80% of their power from nukes. This last point is moot any way. Why? Because if he's in charge he won't have to answer that question or follow through with any of the other centrist promises he made the other night because none of those pieces of legislation will ever cross his desk due to the Democrat controlled Congress. They've done a lot haven't they.

At least the two Republicans running have an actual record of running something successfully and reforming something. Oh and by the way neither one of them has ever taken a single dollar (look it up) from lobbyist. Can Barry say the same? Now that's change we can believe in.

An Email From A Worried Obama Supporter

I received an email earlier today from a worried Obama supporter. Much like most Obama supporters they don't know much about what he stands for, just that he stands for change. I had to do a little editing for language and other references but I'll leave his original grammar and spelling alone. They just can't control themselves...
while theres really no point in debating whether or not obamas speech was a good one with the likes of aaron and jason (i think it was...you think it wasnt...well never agree) i will say that when he had that quote about getting us off foreign oil in 10 years i was like "wiskey tango foxtrott?!?"...

obama HAD TO "attack" mccain and point out the clear differences between the two platforms...its the dem convention...the fact that youre acting surprised is ridiculous and unconvincing...what do you think mccain will do next thursday?...these two candidates have taken the high road all along and its been refreshing...these arent attacks...attacks are when you call out someone personally...the closest thing i saw to an attack was when obama suggested that mccain might not have the temperament required to effectively manage foreign policy...i wasnt a big fan of that but its not the first time weve heard the idea that mccain loses his temper somewhat easily when he doesnt get his way...which isnt a good quality to have in a world leader...so it was relevant and not a complete personal attack...in my opinion...

i just hope this "high road" approach holds through november...i suspect it wont thanks to special interest groups...but its nice to see for the time being...

and dont worry aaron...youll have plenty of time to see some heads-up debating by these two...its a little puzzling that obama didnt take him up on this offer but i think youll see some sort of agreement with a combination of moderated debates and townhall meetings...and how fun will it be to watch the veep debates?...thatll be just a bit lopsided in our favor...

and finally...re: palin as veep...how thinly veiled is this "strategic" move?...does mccain really think that the feminists who wanted hillary in the oval office are actually going to vote for palin just because shes a woman?...i mean...obama and hillary had nearly identical platforms...so at that point it probably did come down to the fact that she was a woman for the feminists...but palin is against a womans right to choose and is not in favor of legislation specifying women having the right to equal pay for equal work...really?...oh yeah...and now this lady is one heart attack (god forbid) away from running the country?...really?...

Other than the occasionally fun email like this from him, he's actually a pretty cool guy. I guess we all have lovable lefties as friends. All we can do it just smile and try to act/talk like an adult to them and hope that some day they see the light.

Here's Here Speech Today!

Here's Sarah's speech today. I know it's long but 20 minutes is worth it to hear the first speech ,as a candidate, of our next Vice President.

Bring it on Slow Joe. She may make him look like an inarticulate idiot in the debate and on the trail.

Many Thoughts On Obama Last Night (bumped)

I was going to just put a bunch of posts up about Obama's speech last night, but that's just not what I'm all geeked up about right now.

Sarah Palin is the GOP VP Nominee and I am stoked!

More thoughts later.

Many Thoughts On Obama Last Night pt 1

Did anyone notice the McCain ads running during the night? Nice. While 2/3 of Obama's speech is all about taking shots at McCain, there's an ad running congratulating him on a job well done in the primaries. That's what people are going to remember and that's not the "change" people thought he represented. If this was a boxing match, it would be the 7th round and Barry's got his arms at his side and he's on his heals waiting for his opponent to pick himself apart. He didn't do himself any favors last night. All he did was highlight the fact that he's just a typical politician willing to get dirty at the drop of a hat. Now that's change you can believe in.

Also, the "I have that debate with McCain anytime" line? McCain invited him to 10 townhall meetings and Obama said he didn't have time (he ducked him) but he did have time to go to Hawaii on vacation for 10 days. Curious.

Re: About To Go To Class

So, the professor seems to be a pretty level headed guy that's not a lefty like most would expect. He showed us a documentary about a day at the Bush white house. As expected, there were some youngsters in there (I'm 31 incidentally) that just rolled their eyes and didn't even want to give a chance. By the way, there was nothing controversial about it just a run of the mill boring puff piece type of doc. I guess when you're that young you don't have as much f an open mind.I know I was pretty bad back then.

Should be a fun semester.

About To Go to Class

I'm about to go to my first class of the day. It's a political science class about the presidency. Should be fun. I'll let y'all know how far left the professor is after class.

I'm going to try and blog from school as much as possible.  This is going to be a sort of study of how left my school is.

The Chicago Way

Obama
is beginning to seem more like Chicago a gangster every day. Cover ups, scandals, half truths, end arounds. That's just what's going on with the Richard J Daley library and the fact that they won't release PUBLIC documents about Barry's relationship with the unrepentant terrorist William Ayers.

Here's the link to the Kurtz Article in National Review Online and a link to Jim Gehraty calling out the Chicago media on why they haven't breathed about the cover up.

Now, here's a story from Chicago today. That's one, we just a firestorm to get this going.

I'm just afraid that this really won't get out until after November and it's too late. This guy is the most opaque candidate for President ever. I guess that's to be expected since he's also the biggest light weight to run for the office as well.

We have got to get this guy's entire past out there for everyone to see, and fast!

Update - The more I think about this, the more I think that the Chicago machine is running for President and that America will be run from the windy city if Obama wins.

As Long As It's Not His Acceptance Speech!

I just read this article about Joe Lieberman delivering a speech at the Republican National Convention. I'm cool with that, as long as it's not his acceptance speech for veep.

Re: Charting McCain's Comeback...

Matt Lewis has a good rundown of the McCain comeback. I like the list, but it's missing an important event from last week.

What event you ask? The Hijacking of the convention by the Clinton's. This was suppose to be Obama's week to show that the Democrat Party was now his, right? Wrong! If he can't even control the Clinton's, a family that has all but run out of leverage within the party's convention, as Dick Morris notes here, what makes him think he can handle anyone else on the world stage?

Here's my favorite passage from the article...
"But, without having any leverage or a decent hand to play, the Clintons bluffed Obama into amazing concessions. Hillary will speak on Tuesday night in prime time. Chelsea will introduce her. She will get to play a film extolling her virtues produced by Harry Bloodworth Thomason. Bill will speak on Wednesday night. Hillary’s name will be placed into nomination. She will get to have nominating and seconding speeches on her behalf. And, on Thursday night, the last night of the convention, the roll call will show how narrowly Obama prevailed.

So Obama gave away Tuesday night, Wednesday night and part of Thursday night to the Clintons. It will really be their convention. A stronger candidate would’ve called their bluff and confined the Clintons to one night on which both Hillary and Bill spoke (he would have outshone her). He would have blocked a roll call by allowing a voice vote to nominate by acclimation. He would have stood up to the Clintons and recaptured his own convention."
I'm sure this isn't the last example of his weakness to be go display.

Getting Into Kobe

It's been a few days since I posted, and I'll try to do better. I'll be catching up most of the day, so let's start with Kobe.

I have no idea what his political views are but hey, this is great to hear from a young athlete from LA that's constantly surrounded by lefty's. In case you haven't heard or read it (if you haven't, you need to get out more)....

Collinsworth: Tell the story when you first got your USA uniform.

Kobe: Well I had goosebumps and I actually just looked at it for awhile. I just held it there and I laid it across my bed and I just stared at it for a few minutes; just because as a kid growing up this is the ultimate, ultimate in basketball.

Collinsworth: Where does the patriotism come from inside of you? Historically, what is it?

Kobe: Well, you know it’s just our country, it’s... we believe is the greatest country in the world. It has given us so many great opportunities, and it’s just a sense of pride that you have; that you say "You know what? Our country is the best!"

Collinsworth: Is that a ‘cool’ thing to say, in this day and age? That you love your country, and that you’re fighting for the red, white and blue? It seems sort of like a day gone by(?)

Kobe: No, it’s a cool thing for me to say. I feel great about it, and I’m not ashamed to say it. I mean, this is a tremendous honor.
Being a Mavericks fan plus considering his past mistakes makes it hard for me to like him, but man this sure helps improve his image with me.

You tell 'em Kobe!

READ THE WHOLE BIBLE!

So, Matthew 25:40 is always the lefty’s favorite verse to quote.  Let's review the quote shall we.

"Whatever you do to the least of my brethren, you have done to me..."

Wouldn't the least of my brethren be the (if you believe they are a human) unborn? If so, how can anyone believe in abortion and then run around quoting this verse so cavalierly. They need to read the rest of the bible. One of the original commandments says, "Thou Shall Not Commit Murder" it doesn’t say "kill" it says murder. So don't throw the death penalty at me dear lefties. Moses used the death penalty against murderers.

This brings me back to my original point (after my little rant). Obama is one of these lefties that use Matthew 25:40 all the time. If he does truly believe this should be our guide then his answer Saturday at Saddleback is dishonest. It's not above your pay grade; you just don't want to answer the question because you know your stance on abortion/murder is inconsistent with Matthew 25:40.

My advice dear lefty's, READ THE WHOLE BIBLE!
